Flax Seeds Granola Bar

Thses granola bars are very easy to make, you only need seeds, honey, brown sugar and butter. I baked these sweet treats at 350 degrees just 5-10 minutes. Cool these for two hours and ready to serve. you can store these in fridge as well.

Prep Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup melon seeds

  • 1 cup flax seeds

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

  • 1/4 cup teff seeds

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Granola Bar

Method:

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and line the base of a 9 inches tin. Although I used silicon cupcake tray and it was very easy to remove from the mold. Mix the seeds in a roasting tin, then put in the oven for 5 mins to toast.

2. Meanwhile, warm the butter, honey and brown sugar in a pan, stirring until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved over medium heat. When butter mixture is ready, remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla and salt.

3. Add the toasted seeds, then mix until all the seeds are well coated. Put in the tin or silicon mold, press down lightly, then bake for 15 mins. Cool in tin, then cut into bars or if you are using silicon cuocake mold just put them out.

Notes:
  • These store very well in the fridger. Must wrap them in a bit of parchment paper before putting them in a container or plastic bag in the fridge so that they don’t stick together.

  • Toasting the nuts and oats is optional but it makes the granola bars taste like cookies. I highly recommend it.

  • You can also add roasted oats and dried fruits in it.

  • You can replace brown sugar with honey or honey with brown sugar.
