CheeseCake Flan-Delicate & Smooth


Cheesecake Flan is a very delicate and elegant dessert that can be prepared for any occasion. It is rich with a smooth, silky with a melt-in-your mouth texture and the delicious caramel syrup is making it absolutely tempting.

It is a chilled dessert, a best option for summer. The recipe is really really easy. Make sure no cream cheese lumps remain in the batter and make sure to skim off the foam so the flan doesn’t create a thick skin after baking. I’ve added lemon juice in the caramel to reduce its sweetness but feel free to leave it out if for some reason you don’t enjoy the lemon in your desserts. The cream cheese gives a great texture and balances the sweetness of the sweetened condensed milk in the batter.

All these being said I must say it’s one of the best desserts I have ever made. Hope you will give it a try. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups sugar, divided

1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk or unsweetened condensed milk

1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, cubed, softened

5 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

DIRECTION:

[if !supportLists]1. [endif]Pre Heat oven to 360°F (180°C).

[if !supportLists]2. [endif]Caramelize the sugar! Cook 1 cup sugar in small saucepan on medium heat until melted and deep golden brown, stirring constantly.

[if !supportLists]3. [endif]Pour into 9-inch round pan; tilt pan to evenly cover bottom with syrup.

[if !supportLists]4. [endif]Blend milk and cream cheese in blender until smooth.

[if !supportLists]5. [endif]Add remaining sugar, eggs and vanilla; blend just until smooth.

(If you are using sweetened condensed milk don’t add the sugar here.)

[if !supportLists]6. [endif]Pour over syrup in pan. Place filled pan in larger pan; add enough hot water to larger pan to come halfway up side of small pan. (Bake on water bath.)

[if !supportLists]7. [endif]Bake 50 min. to 1 hour or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.

[if !supportLists]8. [endif]Cool slightly. Carefully remove flan from water; cool completely on wire rack.

[if !supportLists]9. [endif]Refrigerate several hours or until chilled. Unmold onto plate just before serving and enjoy!
